Privacy

Short version: we run a few measurement tools, we don't ask you for anything on this site, and you can turn them all off from your own browser.

What we don't do

Reading this site needs no account. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number to read anything, and nothing you read here is tied to an identity we hold.

Member accounts

If you choose to create a free member account, it is an RV Tech Cheat Sheet account, held by this site. It is not a Wrenchable account, and nothing about it is sent to Wrenchable or any other app. We keep:

• Your username, email address and password. The username is what we show in place of a name. The password is stored only as a salted, one-way hash (PBKDF2), so we cannot read it.
• When you agreed to our Terms of Service and which version.
• Certificates you upload, with the details you type in (name, issuer, number and dates).

All of it is stored privately on Cloudflare, our web host, encrypted at rest. Certificates can only be opened by your signed-in account; they are not public, not indexed, and not shared with anyone, including employers or schools. We use your email only to identify your account and to answer you if you write to us. We do not send newsletters or marketing from it, and we do not sell or share it.

While you are signed in, your browser keeps a sign-in token (in its local storage and in a cookie named rvtcs_at) and sends it to this site. It only says which account you are signed in as; it is not used for analytics or advertising, and it expires after 30 days or when you sign out.

Your choices. Deleting a certificate from your account deletes the file. To have your whole member account and everything in it deleted, or to get a copy of what we hold, email legal@wrenchable.io from the address on the account. California residents have the right to know what personal information we hold and to have it deleted; that address is how to exercise it. Member accounts are for adults; we do not knowingly hold accounts for anyone under 18.

What we do run

We run the Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram advertising). When you open a page, it tells Meta that a browser visited that URL. We use it for one purpose: so that if we later advertise, we can show those ads to people who have actually read something here, instead of to strangers.

We also run Google Analytics 4. It counts visits and tells us which pages get read and which search terms bring people here, so we can write more of what is actually useful. It is a separate property from the Wrenchable app's, and we do not use it to build advertising audiences.

When you search the manuals library, the words you searched and how many results came back are recorded — without your IP address, name or any account, only a random identifier stored in your browser, which is kept in scrambled (hashed) form. We use it in aggregate to learn which manuals and diagrams people look for and can't find, so we can add them. These records are deleted after 13 months.

All of these run only on rvtechcheatsheet.com. None runs on staging or preview copies of this site.

How to switch it off

• Global Privacy Control. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, or Do Not Track, the pixel, Google Analytics and search recording are all switched off. We check before anything is requested. Firefox, Brave and DuckDuckGo send GPC by default; Chrome needs an extension.
• Any content blocker — uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, Safari's tracking prevention — will also stop the pixel and Google Analytics.
• Google's own opt-out for Analytics is at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
• At Meta's end, your ad settings are at accountscenter.facebook.com/ad_preferences.

Other things worth saying plainly

Our web host records ordinary server logs, as every web host does. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google. Links marked as going to Wrenchable go to software published by Wrenchable Software LLC, who also publish this site — that relationship is stated on the about page and on every page that could be affected by it.

If something on this site is yours and you want it removed, see Copyright & DMCA notices.

We do not sell personal information. We do not run an ad network, set advertising cookies of our own, or share anything with data brokers.

Asking us about it

This site is published by Wrenchable Software LLC, a Florida limited liability company. If you want the pixel data associated with your browser deleted, ask Meta through the ad preferences link above — they hold it, we don't. For your member account or anything else about your privacy, email legal@wrenchable.io, or reach us through the Facebook group.

If we change this policy in a way that affects member accounts, we will update the date below and, for material changes, email members first.
